Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) Bangalore was started in 2000 by Premnath Reddy, Chairman of the Acharya Group of Institutions in Bangalore. The institute is committed to be a fountain head of innovative enterprise with sacred initiatives for tutorial excellence. It is a private co-educational engineering and management college in Bangalore, India, affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
It is one of the several institutes run by the JMJ Education Society. The Deccan Herald lists AIT as one of the “notable” colleges to apply the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) for admission to postgraduate management courses. On 16 June 2012, the college hosted India’s first Heavy metal music festival as a part of Bengaluru Open Air 2012 backed by Germany’s Wacken Open Air at the college stadium. There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can enter directly into the second year of study in engineering.

The 120-acre Acharya Campus nestles in a green environment in the outskirts of Bangalore city. The development has been in sync with nature, where least space has been utilised for structural development leaving a large portion, green. Beautiful gardens, flower beds, fruit and flower bearing trees, park furniture, water ponds, and fountains mark the Campus distinction which has come for appreciation from both students and discerning visitors.
Library is great and has books for all the courses in abundance. There’s a separate library only for reference books. Cricket ground, volleyball, basketball and table game court completes the wonderful. Lecture rooms are well air conditioned excellently maintained, advanced facilities, equipped with a wireless LAN net affiliation and massively spaced out. Every department has its own buildings. The college provides hostel facility for both boys and girls and good food are available in the canteen.

Eligibility Criteria of AIT
Students should have passed second year PUC final examination with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects. Minimum of 45% marks should be scored. SC/ST students should have obtained at least 40% of marks. The students should have passed in the entrance exam conducted by Government of Karnataka. Candidates are also given admission on the basis of Management Quota and NRI Quota.
