Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) Bangalore is an Autonomous organization which is affiliated to (VTU) Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), and is approval by UGC. NMIT is the youngest engineering college in the country to be conferred the prestigious Autonomous Status by UGC/Govt. of Karnataka, New-Delhi in the year 2007.
NMIT is a unique institution which has established five multi-disciplinary research centres for Small Satellites, Robotics, Nanomaterial & MEMS, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Design Engineering & Process Simulation.
This college is mainly focused on research and excellence in education. The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre came into existence in year 2010 and has also established a Business Incubator which is supported by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India.
NMIT is recognised by ISRO as a Centre for Small Satellite Research (CSSR) for undertaking collaborative research on space technology and satellite development. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre was established in the year 2010.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) has all the required facilities which are required for the career growth of the students in the engineering college. The Library and Information Center is housed in a spacious area of about 1000 sq mtrs.
The Center has a comprehensive collection of Books, Periodicals, Audio / Video CD-ROMs, E-Resources in Engineering, Basic Sciences, Management and General subjects to cater the needs of Faculty members, Research Scholars, Staff and Students. Separate hostel accommodation is available for both boys and girls with 1689 capacity. The hostel mess operates on ‘no-profit-no-loss’ basis. Students are served both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Wi-Fi facility Conference rooms, open air theatre, multi-purpose Gym and indoor/outdoor sports facility, medical center/counselling cell, canteen facility are provided by the college. The seminar halls are available for the students where in they share their knowledge with others and also the guest lectures.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology
Students should have passed second year PUC final examination with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects. Minimum of 45% marks should be scored. SC/ST students should have obtained at least 40% of marks. The students should have passed in the entrance exam conducted by Government of Karnataka. Candidates are also given admission on the basis of Management Quota and NRI Quota.
