The College of Nursing, CIHSR was formed in 2011. It is the first institute in Nagaland, which provides education for nursing courses and healthcare services. It is a part of developing the framework for community care in the whole North East region.
The CIHSR is a tripartite partnership of the government of Nagaland, Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA), and the Christian Medical College (CMC). They together formed an allied system for providing education, medical care, and strengthening the healthy lifestyle of the people.
The campus has various departments: Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Eye, Dermatology, and two super-specialty branches of gastroenterology and pediatric surgery. Patients travel from all parts of India to CIHSR for their treatments.

Spirituality is maintained within the campus by the Chapel Committee. Students actively take part in improving their mental states with the help of guided meditation. It enables them to have peace of mind and reflect positivity. With the availability of an ELS book shop, the students enjoy the privilege to read and buy their study material within the campus.
