B.M.S College of Law was established in the year 1963 by Sri. B S Narayan, Donor Trustee, BMSET, under the ageis of B.M.S Education Trust. The Trust is named after Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasaktha Sri. B. M. Srinivasaiah, whose vision brought about the foundation of the first private Engineering College in the State of Karnataka.
The College offers the following Courses;
- B.A. LL.B., (5 Year Degree Course)
- B.Com. LL.B., (5 Year Degree Course)
- L.L.B., (3 Year Degree Course)
The College is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. With an aim of imparting quality legal education, B.M.S College of Law has a strong foundation and infrastructure with a highly qualified and dedicated team of faculty committed to providing a world-class learning experience.

The institution boasts a spacious library with a collection of 19000 books and journals which are updated periodically. The Moot Court training persuaded by the college, effectively equips the students in enhancing their litigating skills.
The training and placement cell of college assists the students in obtaining timely allotment for the mandatory internships in leading NGOs, Corporate and Law firms of the country. The cell also takes initiative in conducting placement related activities such as training programs, mock interviews, general aptitude, and group discussion with special emphasis on soft skills, ethics, and professionalism to promote the rate of employability.

5 YEAR INTEGRATED DEGREE COURSE, B.A. LL.B., B.Com LL.B.
UNIVERSITY NORMS
An applicant who has successfully completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School Course (‘+2’) or equivalent such as (10+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognized University/Institution of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Central or State Government/s of India or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the Government of that country for the purpose of issue of International qualifying certificate equivalent to 10+2 on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course
The minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
INTERNAL CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
PERCENTAGE OF MARKS – 45% & Above in grade 12/equivalent
MUST QUALIFY IN BMSCLAT
AGE- 18 Years & above, 20 Years & below
Admission Procedure
APPLICATION – Candidates can apply through online/offline mode once the notification is published on the website/notice board. Submitted applications will go through the short listing process based on merit.
SHORT-LIST of APPLICATIONS- Applicants who get short-listed would receive the Call Letter for the selection process.
SELECTION PROCESS- Applicants are required to go through the entrance test named BMSCLAT followed by a Personal Interview.
SELECTION- Qualified applicants would receive the Offer Letter for admission. Candidates are required to complete the admission formalities according to the instructions prescribed in the Offer Letter.
3 YEAR LL.B. COURSE
UNIVERSITY NORMS
Eligibility and Admission Procedure
Admissions to the first year of the 3-year LL.B. course, in all colleges under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University, is strictly based on merit, based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination.
To be eligible for admission in the 3-year LL.B. course, the candidate should:
Have graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for three-year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted under these Regulations.
Be or be less than thirty years in the case of the general category of applicants and thirty-five years in the case of applicants from SC, ST, and other backward communities.
Have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
